Ingredients
2 large apples (like Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ginger
⅛ teaspoon cloves
⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Peel and dice the apples and place them in a mixing bowl.
2. In a small dish, melt the butter. Whisk in the maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt until smooth.
3. Pour about 2 tablespoons of the mixture over the apples and toss to coat.
4. Place the apples in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 10 minutes.
5. At the 5-minute halfway point, open the air fryer and toss the apples with 1 more tablespoon of the maple mixture.
6. When done, transfer the hot apples back to the bowl and toss with the remaining maple mixture.
7. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
Vegan Option: For a vegan version, simply swap the butter for a high-quality dairy-free butter or refined coconut oil.
Apple Choice: Firm, crisp apples like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Braeburn work best as they hold their shape during cooking.
Serving Suggestions: These apples are incredible served warm over vanilla ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or waffles.
